Applewood Heights will be participating in the 2026 Spring Cleanup. The free event will be held on Saturday, May 16th, from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Hitchcock Elementary School (5809 S 104th Street).
City garbage trucks will be on hand for the bulky items not usually accepted through normal curbside trash/recycling services, such as furniture, carpet, mattresses, lumber, building materials, etc. For more information and for a list of accepted items visit the City of Omaha’s Wasteline website at http://wasteline.org/general-information/spring-cleanup/
Tires are not accepted at Spring Cleanup. Information on a new, separate tire collection will be available at a later date.
Yard waste will be accepted ONLY at the designated yard waste site, City of Omaha Oma-Gro Compost Receiving Facility (the former Al Veys Park) at 6606 S 60th St.
